Anticipate the extension of the EB-5 Regional Center law to December 9, 2016, through a forthcoming government continuing resolution. We expect no changes to the law until December 9th.
At some point, the regulations or statute will increase the minimum investment amount to $800,000.
Other changes to the law may include the following:
New methods of calculating Targeted Employment Areas (“TEA”);
Restrictions on who can gift the invested funds to the investor;
More restrictive methods of measuring indirect job creation.
